Our type and design class chose a target audience to make a specified cookbook for. Some chose a cookbook for dogs, perhaps their family members, really could be anything. My target audience was for youth cons that could be attended by highschool students. Youth cons were weekend long events run by different UU churches in the eastern region. My end goal was to have a cookbook that had all 3 meals, snacks and the required ingredients and meal prep, to make things a lot easier.
